The referendum on Moldova's accession to the European Union cannot be organized on the Transnistria, as this region is not controlled by the Moldovan authorities. Context
The President of Moldova signed the country's application to join the European Union in March 2022. A few months later, Chisinau received the status of an EU candidate.
