Poland will not be looking for participants to join the Ukrainian Legion. The recruitment process is being implemented with the help of Ukrainian consulates. This was stated by Polish Deputy Defense Minister Pawel Zalewski on the air of "Polish Radio", UNN reports.

As the Polish official emphasized, Poland will in no way be involved in the process of recruiting personnel to this unit of the Armed Forces, as it is not allowed to do so by law.

Ukrainian volunteers, who will be recruited to the Ukrainian army on the basis of Ukrainian laws at Ukrainian consular offices, will undergo basic training at one of the training grounds in Poland, and will be trained by the Polish army
Zalewski also explained that the obligation to equip the Ukrainian military in this legion will be divided between the Ukrainian and Polish sides.
He noted that Poland is one of the largest training centers for the Ukrainian army abroad, with more than 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers having been trained in Poland.
He emphasized that after the training in Poland, Ukrainian soldiers will go to Ukraine to take part in combat operations and will have the right to return to Poland.
