US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin welcomed the adoption of a new aid package by the US House of Representatives, noting that it will help his ministry "increase the amount of vital security assistance to help Ukraine defend itself from Russian aggression." Austin also emphasized that $50 billion of the $95 billion approved by Congress will be directed to the US defense industrial base, which will help create new jobs in more than 30 states and "strengthen US security in the long term.

The package passed by the House of Representatives on Saturday, totaling $95 billion, includes such expenditures:
- about $61 billion for Ukraine and replenishment of U.S. weapons stockpiles.
- The total amount allocated to Ukraine for the purchase of weapons will be 13.8 billion dollars.
- Ukraine will receive more than $9 billion in economic aid in the form of loans.
The Senate is expected to pass the package next week. President Joe Biden has promised to sign the package as soon as he receives it.
