Details
SBI officers have completed a pre-trial investigation into a law enforcement officer who served in Zakarpattia and turned out to be an agent of Russian special services. The indictment was sent to court.
After his betrayal and escape, the traitor gave a long interview to one of the Russian media, where he said that he had been engaged in subversive activities against Ukraine since 2014, while serving in the Luhansk region. The man provided the terrorists from the so-called luhansk People's Republic with information on the location of Ukrainian armed forces units,
It is noted that with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian agent began to cooperate more actively with the Russian FSB. The law enforcement officer served in the border guard units in Lysychansk and the information received from him allegedly helped the enemy to conduct precision strikes on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
After being wounded and undergoing rehabilitation, he took the opportunity to transfer to Zakarpattia and in June 2022 headed the cyber defense group of the communications department of one of the border guard units.
The traitor boasted that in this position he continued to pass data to the Russian special services. And when he learned that he was going to be inspected, he informed his Kremlin handlers. On their instructions, as part of a group of fugitives, he illegally crossed the border with Hungary, then flew to Istanbul, and from there - to Moscow.
The traitor said that his family had already received Russian citizenship and he allegedly planned to settle in the Far East, where he was offered work and housing.
The former military officer is accused of high treason, desertion and misappropriation of military property (Articles 111(1) and (2), 408(4), 410(4) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanctions of these articles provide for imprisonment for a term of 15 years or more, up to life imprisonment.
