More than 540 Ukrainian servicemen who were wounded during the war have already undergone medical rehabilitation in Latvia. This was stated by the Minister of Health of the country Hosam Abu Meri, who, together with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Anatoliy Kutsevols, visited the Jaunkemeri rehabilitation center the day before. UNN reports this with reference to the Latvian agency.
More than 540 soldiers who were injured in Ukraine have already undergone medical rehabilitation in Latvia. We take into account several things to offer the best conditions for the soldiers - the necessary specialists and location to provide transportation or other doctors for consultations if necessary. Military injuries and rehabilitation of soldiers have their own specifics, and I am pleased that Latvian specialists demonstrate a high level of professionalism. Latvia will continue to provide support to Ukraine, we are constantly monitoring the current situation and keeping in touch with the Ukrainian side
Reportedly, most of the soldiers are treated at the Vaivari National Rehabilitation Center, but the hospital's capacity to receive wounded soldiers has reached its maximum, so other options were found. This year, the Yaunkemeri rehabilitation center will receive a total of 50 soldiers.
At Jaunkemer, both the Minister and the Ambassador got acquainted with the programs and methods offered by the rehabilitation center for the medical rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers.
It is also reported that this week Latvia will send another shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. It will include antibiotics, syringes, needles, infusion systems, manipulation tourniquets, bandages to stop life-threatening bleeding, and bandages for dressing large wounds. The cargo will be handed over to the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for distribution to hospitals.
