Since the beginning of the full-scale war and as part of the work to return illegally deported Ukrainian children home, 2,358 children have already been brought back from the temporarily occupied territories and Russia. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, writes UNN.
Details
According to Lubinets, Russia has been illegally deporting Ukrainian children since 2014, and such actions constitute a gross violation of international law and bear signs of genocide.
"Together with international partners, we work every day to bring every child home. Very often, this work begins with an appeal from parents or relatives. I personally conduct negotiations, and our team does everything possible to ensure that children are once again with their families," the ombudsman noted.
Lubinets emphasized that the process of returning Ukrainian children is complex and lengthy, as each case requires separate coordination with international partners, diplomatic efforts, and negotiations.
