The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the name of the celebrity who will host the 97th Academy Awards. The famous American comedian, TV host, screenwriter and producer of Irish descent Conan O'Brien will appear on the stage of the 2025 film awards. The choice of O'Brien to host the ceremony came as a real surprise, as his name was not mentioned in the list of possible hosts of the Oscars 2025. Earlier, sources noted that the Academy was leaning toward a format in which there were several presenters. They also considered the option of having Deadpool and Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman host the ceremony. However, Reynolds called it unlikely at the time.
Conan O'Brien became famous as the host of the late-night talk shows Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and Conan. He has won five Emmy Awards and received 31 nominations for his work.
The 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theater.
