Family, friends and former bandmates honored the memory of Liam Payne at the funeral of the One Direction star, a little over a month after his death at the age of 31, the BBC reports, UNN writes.
Details
The private service was held on Wednesday in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London.
Payne's former bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik were among those who attended, along with Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy and his former partner Cheryl, with whom he has a son.
Payne's coffin arrived at the church on a white horse-drawn hearse, on which were laid flowers composed of the words "son" and "dad.
After the service, four pallbearers carried the coffin out of St. Mary's Church, followed by his parents and Cheryl.
Her Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, as well as former One Direction label head Simon Cowell, were also at the service.
Hosts James Corden, Marvin and Rochelle Humes, Scott Mills, and Adrian Chiles were also among those who were on duty.
Other flowers at the funeral included one arrangement in the form of a set of 10 bowling pins and a ball, a reference to one of Payne's favorite pastimes.
A small crowd gathered outside the church, but fans mostly stayed away, with members of the One Direction Reddit group reminding others that "wakes are for fans, funerals are for family.
