In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders are facing intense attacks by Russian troops, which are often conducted without the support of armored vehicles. Over the past day, our units successfully repelled 11 attacks, the vast majority of which took place in this area. This was reported by the National Guard spokesman Ruslan Muzychuk during a telethon, UNN reports.
"Over the last day, our troops repelled 11 attacks in the eastern sector, most of them took place in the Pokrovsk sector, and the enemy is trying to maintain the intensity of attacks here. These attacks are not always supported by armored vehicles, very often they are just infantry assaults. The enemy, after striking with artillery and aircraft, tries to move its infantry to conduct assault operations," said Muzychuk.
According to him, enemy aircraft pose a significant threat, as most of the air strikes that the enemy conducts daily against the positions of Ukrainian defenders are concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions. Fighting in such conditions is difficult, but our units are effectively performing defense tasks and inflicting losses on the enemy.
"In particular, our guardsmen destroyed 2 tanks, 7 armored vehicles, 12 vehicles and 15 artillery systems over the last day. We are also constantly working to detect enemy concentrations. This day, 11 such places of concentration were attacked with the help of drones and artillery," added the NGU spokesman.
He adds that the enemy is constantly trying to conduct assault operations in the Donetsk sector.
