Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that Ukraine and Russia will have to sit down together and find a way out of the "crisis." He also said that India is ready to make a proactive contribution to all efforts to achieve peace.

He said this during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UNN reports .

Two years ago, in Samarkand, when I met with Putin, I told him to his face, in front of the press, that this is not an era of war. And last month, when I visited Russia to meet with Putin, I told him very clearly that problems cannot be solved on the battlefield. The only way to overcome the problems is through dialog and diplomacy. And that we should move in this direction without wasting time. Both sides will have to sit down together and look for ways out of this crisis

- Modi said.

He noted that he would like to discuss in depth the path to a peaceful settlement with Zelenskyy.

Today I would like to discuss with you in depth the path to a peaceful settlement. I assure you that India is ready to contribute proactively to all those efforts that are being made to achieve peace, and I personally, as a friend, if I can play any role, I would very much like to play that role in a peaceful settlement

- Modi said.

In addition, Modi noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are showing good progress.

Despite the difficult circumstances, our bilateral relations are making good progress, and I can say that in such a tense environment, the progress in bilateral relations between India and Ukraine reflects the maturity of our bilateral relations..

- Modi said.

Addendum
