General mobilization is underway in Ukraine, during which citizens subject to military service are called up for military service. And according to the current legislation, those under the age of 25 can also be drafted into the army. This was stated by the Odesa regional territorial center for recruitment and social support, UNN reports.
Details
The CCC emphasizes that not all Ukrainians know the law and pick up information provocations about the allegedly illegal mobilization of those under 25.
They noted that men between the ages of 18 and 25 are classified as conscripts, but there are cases when such persons may be mobilized. In particular, men under the age of 25 can be mobilized in the following cases:
- If a man served in military service in peacetime;
- If the spouse graduated from a higher military educational institution or military department and received a certain military accounting specialty;
- “Restrictedly fit”, i.e. recognized by the military medical commission as unfit for military service in peacetime and fit in wartime.
The ministry emphasizes that since April 2024, there has been no "limitedly fit" status. People who had it remain liable for military service even if they are under 25 years old.
That is, such people can indeed have their military registration documents checked and, if they do not have up-to-date ones, sent for a second military medical examination.
Addendum
The TCC reminds that, according to the new legislation, after it, a man can obtain the following statuses:
- Fit for service;
- Suitable for service in military support units, TCCs and JVs, military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical units, logistics, communications, operational support, security units;
- Unfit for military service with exclusion from military registration;
- Temporarily unfit - requiring medical treatment, vacation, release from duty;
- Unfit for military service with re-examination in 6-12 months.
Recall
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that mobilization in Ukraine is going according to plan, but there are not enough places for mobilized troops to train. In cooperation with Poland, work is underway to expand training centers both inside and outside the country.
