The US-flagged vessel Alliance Fairfax passed through the Strait of Hormuz under military convoy. At least two American merchant ships received protection.

A commercial vessel owned by Maersk passed through the Strait of Hormuz under the escort of the U.S. military as part of shipping security measures. This was reported by Bloomberg, according to UNN.

The vessel in question is the U.S.-flagged Alliance Fairfax, which was among the ships that received a military escort while exiting the Persian Gulf.

According to a company spokesperson, the crew was offered an escort by the U.S. military.

"We were contacted by the U.S. military and offered the opportunity to exit under their protection,"

he noted.

The vessel is operated by Farrell Lines Inc., which is part of Maersk Line Limited.

Earlier, U.S. Central Command reported that at least two U.S.-flagged merchant vessels successfully transited the strait with military support.
