British King Charles and Queen Camilla have departed Joint Base Andrews in the US. Their motorcade is making the short trip from Maryland to Washington, D.C., UNN reports, citing CNN.
In Washington, the royal family will be met by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House.

According to Sky News, royal commentator Alastair Bruce noted that the journey was quite long, but the King and Queen will have time to recover from the flight.
"You can see the security presence even here at Joint Base Andrews. A very high level of security for the King," Alastair Bruce added.
