Kharkiv: Fire in a residential building claims two lives

In Kharkiv, a fire in an apartment building killed 2 people. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, UNN reports.

At 20:32, a fire broke out in a residential building in Kharkiv.

The fire engulfed one of the apartments on the ground floor, covering an area of about 30 square meters. The center of the fire was in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, among the dead are a 78-year-old woman whom firefighters found in the epicenter of the fire and a man born in 2004 whose body was found by rescuers during reconnaissance between the 5th and 6th floors.

In the course of the rescue operation, the rescuers also used a retractable fire escape to rescue a 31-year-old woman and her two-year-old child from a second-floor window. In addition, 10 other residents of the building were evacuated to the fresh air.
