EU countries have allocated more than 23 billion euros ($26.13 billion) in military aid to Ukraine this year, which is more than last year, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said on Friday upon arrival at the Ramstein format meeting at NATO headquarters, UNN writes.
Today we are discussing again what else we can do to help Ukraine. And from the European side, last year we supported Ukraine with 20 billion euros. Already this year, member states have allocated more than 23 billion euros. We are definitely doing more than last year, but we need to do [even] more," - said Kallas.
At the same time, according to her, "we see promises coming in every day." "We also see that there are steps taken by member states, which is important for us to send a signal that we support Ukraine, and that is also what the meeting is about," the EU's chief diplomat said.
