Maccabi Tel Aviv fans who came to support their team in the Europa League game against Ajax Amsterdam faced aggression from local fans, which provoked concern and condemnation from Israeli and Dutch officials.

After the match, which ended in a convincing victory for Ajax, local fans attacked groups of Israeli fans, despite the peaceful atmosphere at the stadium and the increased police presence. The attacks resulted in at least five Israelis being hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.
