Two oil tankers caught fire while attempting to navigate a mined route in the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by CNN, citing Iran's state news agency and a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), writes UNN.

According to the IRGC, the Strait of Hormuz is currently "extremely dangerous and completely closed." At the same time, CNN notes that it was unable to independently verify these claims and has reached out to the U.S. Central Command for comment.
The report comes amid a new wave of U.S. airstrikes on Iran, which, according to the U.S. military, are aimed at further weakening Iran's military capabilities.
Additionally, the U.S. military reported that it had destroyed an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps observation tower on Iran's southeastern coast the day before.
