Iran announced the re-closure of the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States of violating the agreements stipulated in the memorandum of understanding, and Israel of continuing hostilities in Lebanon, UNN reports, citing Reuters and the BBC.

The Central Command of Iran's Joint Armed Forces "Khatam al-Anbiya" stated that the closure of the strait was a "first step" in response to violations of the obligations under the 14-point memorandum.
The Iranian military leadership also warned of possible further measures if what Tehran called "aggression" continues. The corresponding statement was disseminated by the state agency Mehr.
The statement came amid a new escalation of the situation in Lebanon. Despite the ceasefire announced the day before, on Saturday Israel and the Hezbollah group continued exchanging strikes and mutual accusations of violating the truce.
