In Zaporizhzhia, a man attacked a woman in the stairwell of a high-rise building and tried to take her backpack by force, spraying her with gas spray. His accomplice was standing guard at the time. The woman started calling for help and the attackers fled. Law enforcement officers detained both offenders. For their actions, they face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia region.

According to law enforcement officials, the other day, the police department No. 1 of the Zaporizhzhia District Police Department received a report from doctors that an ambulance had delivered a woman with chemical burns to her eyes.
According to the victim, an unknown man attacked her in the stairwell and tried to rip off her backpack. When he failed, he sprayed tear gas into her eyes and tried to take her property again. The woman began to call for help and this forced the attacker to flee
It is reported that the attacker did not act alone - his accomplice was waiting nearby to flee the crime scene together.
The offenders were 26-year-old and 37-year-old residents of Zaporizhzhia region. They planned the attack in advance and acted according to an agreed plan. For conspiracy, the offender, who directly attacked the woman, wore tactical military clothing
Law enforcement officers conducted the necessary set of measures and within a day established the location of the wanted persons. Then, with the force support of the Special Forces, the criminals were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators served both detainees a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the court imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail
