Popular names

According to the Ministry of Justice, among girls, the leaders were: Sofia, Zlata, Milana, Emilia, Anna, Anastasia, Polina, Maria, Solomiia, and Eva.

Boys were most often given the following names: Artem, Oleksandr, Matvii, Maksym, Tymofii, Bohdan, Davyd, Yaroslav, Roman, and Dmytro.

These names are among the most common in most regions of Ukraine in the first half of 2026.

For example, the name Sofia is among the most popular in most regions - from Vinnytsia and Volyn to Odesa and Kharkiv. The names Artem and Oleksandr are included in the lists of the most popular in the central, western, and eastern regions of Ukraine. Zlata and Milana are especially often chosen in the west and center of the country, while Matvii and Tymofii are popular in the western regions.
