Talen Energy (TLNE.PK) is asking U.S. regulators to reject challenges from American Electric Power (AEP.O) and Exelon (EXC.O) to its new data center deal with Amazon (AMZN.O). The opposing companies argue that such a deal could increase the cost of electricity for the public.

In a statement released on Friday, Talen called the challenge "inaccurate," assuring that the deal would not lead to higher electricity prices for utility customers or grid reliability issues. He emphasized that his agreement with Amazon should help serve data center needs more efficiently without negatively impacting the energy supply market.
