In the Polish city of Gdynia, an unknown man brutally attacked a 40-year-old Ukrainian citizen, hitting her on the head with a wooden cane. This is reported by UNN citing Wirtualna Polska Media SA.
Law enforcement officers have launched a search for the attacker and are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

The incident occurred on July 30 at around 3:30 PM on the stairs on Żelazna Street. As reported by Marek Kobiałko, a representative of the Gdynia-Oksywie police station, an unknown man struck the woman twice on the back of the head with a wooden walking cane, after which he fled the scene.
The victim was immediately taken to the city hospital in Gdynia. After necessary examinations and medical assistance, the woman was released home; her life is not in danger.
Police officers together with forensic experts inspected the scene, seized evidence, and recorded traces.
Law enforcement officers have already noted that the materials collected so far do not indicate that the attack was motivated by national prejudice.
A video with the victim has also appeared online. The woman said that the attacker approached from behind, so she did not have time to see him.

Earlier, Poland's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Czesław Mroczek, stated a significant increase in the number of hate crimes in the country. According to his data, while in 2024 over 760 such cases were recorded, in 2025 this figure rose to nearly 1,200 (by over 30%).
