In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers prevented the murder of a woman, which, according to the investigation, was ordered by her 70-year-old ex-husband. He allegedly promised to pay the perpetrators 10 thousand dollars for the murder. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspect decided to kill his ex-wife, with whom he lived for 33 years and has two common sons. The reason is conflicts over the division of property after the divorce. In addition, the man began to suspect that his ex-wife and mother of his children was having an intimate relationship with another man.
The man turned to an acquaintance with a request to find a hitman. At that moment, the case was taken under control by law enforcement officers.
According to the prosecutor's office, the suspect asked to kill the woman and take her body to the forest. During the meeting, he gave the undercover "killer" 5 thousand dollars as a down payment, photos of his ex-wife, her home address, and a hand-drawn diagram of the house. He promised to transfer another 5 thousand dollars after the order was completed.
In addition, according to the investigation, the man planned to forge the woman's will in order to obtain the property that the court had left to her after the divorce. For this, he planned to pay an additional 3 thousand dollars.
To prevent the crime, law enforcement officers staged the woman's murder. She was made up to look like a murdered person using professional makeup.
After that, the woman was photographed in the house and in the forest, where the perpetrator was supposed to take the "body" as agreed.
These photos were sent to the suspect.
They were supposed to convince the man that his order had been carried out and that his ex-wife was no longer alive.
The elderly man had no doubts about the authenticity of the photos, and after some time he calmly met with the "perpetrator" to give him the second part of the promised amount - another 5 thousand dollars. Immediately after that, the suspect was detained.
He has now been notified of suspicion of organizing an attempted premeditated murder for mercenary motives and on order.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. It is being conducted by police investigators of the Kyiv region with the operational support of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.
