A robber with a hunting rifle broke into a branch of the "Bank of Georgia" in the Abasha municipality and opened fire. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, reports UNN.

According to the investigation, the attacker fired one shot - no one was injured. The police detained him at the scene.
The department does not specify whether the robber demanded money. An investigation has been launched under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia - robbery. It provides for punishment of imprisonment for up to 7 years.

According to eyewitnesses, the young man entered the bank in military uniform with a hunting rifle, fired one shot inside, and asked the people inside to call the police as soon as possible.
"He broke in not with the intention of robbery. He demanded to call '112', saying: 'Call the police, let me rest.' He did not demand money, he said not to be afraid," one of the eyewitnesses said.
The TV channel's interlocutors claim that the man served in the Senaki military unit. They explain his actions as a "mental moment," suggesting that he was experiencing family problems.
