Heathrow Airport in the UK has reopened after a massive disruption due to a fire, the airport said on Saturday, UNN reports.

"Flights to Heathrow have resumed, we are open and fully operational. All terminals and all parking lots are open throughout Heathrow," the statement said.
Teams across the airport, as noted, "continue to do everything possible to support passengers affected by yesterday's substation outage outside the airport."
"Passengers traveling today should check with their airline for the latest information on their flight," the airport said.
The airport said in comments to the press that hundreds of additional staff had been deployed in the terminals, and new flights had been added "to accommodate an additional 10,000 passengers."

The closure of Europe's busiest airport reportedly led to the cancellation of more than 1,000 flights and disrupted travel plans for about 290,000 passengers.
The disruptions began late Thursday evening when fire crews were called to a fire in Hayes, west London, at an electricity substation serving Heathrow and local facilities.
Police said the cause of the fire was not believed to be suspicious, while the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said its investigation would focus on electrical distribution equipment.
