On July 28, the opposition in Georgia filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court against the law "on transparency of foreign influence" adopted by the parliament on the initiative of the ruling majority.
The press service of the United National Movement reported that the head of the UNM, Tina Bokuchava, and the leader of the Unity-National Movement, Tamar Kordzia, along with representatives of the parliamentary opposition, filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court of Batumi demanding the repeal of the law on foreign agents.
The opposition argues that the law violates Article 72 of the Constitution, which obliges state bodies to adhere to the Euro-Atlantic course. The lawsuit was signed by 32 opposition members of parliament.
