More than 80 employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on Thursday evening, November 28 issued a joint statement condemning the decision of the authorities to suspend the country's European integration. The signatories distributed the texts of the statement in social networks, writes UNN.

It is noted that the statement on removing Georgia's accession to the EU from the agenda until 2028 does not meet its strategic interests.
In addition, delaying the accession negotiation process will lead to isolation of the country. Without the support of Western partners, Georgia is left alone with threats, which are especially amplified against the background of processes taking place in the international environment and in the security sphere,
The signatories also stressed that the suspension of movement to the European Union contradicts the requirements of Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia, which sets out the course towards European integration.
Currently, the joint statement has been signed by 87 current employees of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, including representatives of the Department of Euro – Atlantic integration, the International Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry, and Georgian embassies in different countries of the world.
