The Minister of Internal Affairs reiterated the full commitment of the police to finding those responsible for these unacceptable actions.
"The minister decided to increase the presence of law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of sensitive networks, in particular the railroad network, by increasing the number of night checks on roads adjacent to railroads," the country's Interior Ministry said.
It also states that last Friday, prefects were instructed to increase vigilance and intensify patrols near important locations in cooperation with SNCF.
The Minister of Transport called on SNCF to strengthen its monitoring of the railroad network. "This includes the mobilization of additional security teams and the wider use of surveillance equipment," the statement said.
