In the Kharkiv region, a 22-year-old single mother used physical violence against her newborn daughter when she was only a few months old. The infant suffered fractures of the skull, ribs, and leg, as well as a brain hemorrhage. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, writes UNN.

At the end of January 2024, a single mother in Kharkiv gave birth to a girl named Kvitоslava. According to the investigation, when the child was only a few weeks old, the woman began to use physical violence against her.
During February–March 2024, the mother repeatedly beat her daughter and committed violent acts against her.
As a result, the girl suffered fractures of the leg, skull bones, and ribs, as well as a severe traumatic brain injury and hemorrhages. In addition, experts found other brain damage indicating repeated trauma to the infant
The child was hospitalized in serious condition - the grandmother took her to the hospital. She was in inpatient treatment for almost five months.
The grandmother took custody of the girl.
The head of the Slobidska District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv served the 22-year-old mother with a suspicion of:
- intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm;
- intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm;
- malicious failure by parents to fulfill their legally established duties to care for a child, resulting in grave consequences.
