A former deputy from the Vinnytsia region has been notified of suspicion regarding illicit enrichment and false asset declaration. According to the investigation, he concealed assets worth tens of millions of hryvnias, and during the searches, he attempted to flee to Poland but was detained near the state border. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, on May 8, 2026, a former deputy from the Vinnytsia region was notified of suspicion of false declaration and illicit enrichment
According to the investigation, in his declarations for 2022–2023, he failed to disclose property worth over 31.8 million UAH. Among the undeclared assets are 68 land plots, 4 residential buildings, 29 vehicles, gas station complexes, and a pig farm building.
Separately, law enforcement officers verified the legality of the acquisition of assets in 2022. According to the investigation, during this period, the former official acquired property worth nearly 42 million UAH – including 47 land plots, a residential building, and three business-class cars.
At the same time, his official income and savings amounted to approximately 5.3 million UAH. Thus, the value of the assets exceeds confirmed legal income by more than 36 million UAH.
During the investigation, it was also established that some of the land plots may have been registered in the names of other individuals to conceal the real owner and the volume of assets.
When law enforcement arrived to conduct searches, the suspect attempted to leave for Poland, but he was detained near the state border.
As part of the proceedings, dozens of searches were conducted at the residences of the deputy and associated persons. Financial documentation, data storage devices, rough notes, documents regarding property registration, and a Mercedes car, which may be linked to illicit enrichment, were seized
He is charged with knowingly entering false information into a declaration and illicit enrichment.
