The accident occurred in the evening of April 12. One of the support elements broke off and hit the cabin, causing the floor to be smashed out. The passengers inside fell from the height. The funicular traffic was stopped. Rescuers completed the evacuation of 174 people only a day after the incident. The funicular was opened in 2017.
