Fine up to UAH 170,000 - Parliament proposes to toughen punishment for illegal military registration

A bill on fines for officials for unlawful military registration has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. Violation of the rules entails a fine of up to UAH 170,000.

A draft law No. 15115 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for increased responsibility for officials for violating the rules of military registration. This is stated on the parliament's website, UNN reports.

The document proposes to supplement Article 210-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses with a new norm. This refers to cases where an official unlawfully registers individuals for military service who are not subject to such registration by law.

Violation by an official of the procedure for maintaining military records entails the imposition of a fine in the amount of ten thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens

- stated in the text of the draft law.

In monetary terms, this can amount to up to 170 thousand hryvnias.

The draft law is currently proposed to be adopted as a basis, after which it must be finalized taking into account comments and submitted for a second reading.

The initiative is aimed at preventing illegal registration, in particular of persons who are not subject to mobilization in accordance with current legislation.
