The organizers of the Tour de France have shortened the final, 21st stage of the cycling race, which will end in Paris, due to the redeployment of security forces to combat massive forest fires. Reuters reports, writes UNN.

The final stage, during which cyclists traditionally finish on the Champs-Élysées, will be shortened from 133 to 89 km.
In a joint statement by the race organizers and the Paris police, it is noted that due to the massive forest fires that have engulfed France, particularly the Gironde region, emergency services are fully focused on fighting the fire and protecting the population.
In light of this, the Ministry of the Interior decided to redeploy part of the internal security forces initially mobilized to ensure security at the final stage of the Tour de France to strengthen response efforts in areas affected by forest fires
Before the final stage, four-time Slovenian champion Tadej Pogačar has an almost insurmountable lead in the general classification and is one step away from winning his third consecutive Tour de France title.
