NNEGC "Energoatom" has already completed scheduled repairs on four power units, and work on two more is being finalized. This was reported by the head of Energoatom, Pavlo Kovtoniuk, during the national telethon broadcast on July 9, as reported by UNN.
The company expects to complete the entire cycle of scheduled preventive repairs by mid-November and reach full capacity with all power units.
Details
According to Pavlo Kovtoniuk, the repair schedule was arranged so that nuclear generation would operate at maximum capacity during the autumn-winter period.
We understand our importance for providing electricity to Ukraine. And our schedule of planned repairs of power units is built in such a way as to maximize capacity during the autumn-winter period. As of today, we have already completed scheduled repairs on four power units. Scheduled repairs on two power units are being finalized. And by the end of November, even by mid-November, we will fully complete the entire cycle of our scheduled preventive repairs and will operate at full capacity with all power units
He added that, according to the planned scenario, the capacity should be sufficient to stably get through autumn and winter.
I understand that our fellow energy workers are also actively working on restoring and repairing their power facilities. And I hope that the country should stably get through autumn and winter
Answering the question of whether the capacity will be sufficient to stably get through the autumn-winter period, he said: "Yes, according to the plan, we should have enough".
Preparation for repairs
Kovtoniuk explained that preparation for scheduled repairs of power units begins well in advance, not a month or two before the start of work.
Preparation for scheduled repairs is not carried out a month or two in advance; it begins a year ahead. Certain procurements and orders are made. Therefore, readiness for carrying out such scheduled preventive repairs is prepared in advance
According to him, the repair program in 2026 does not differ significantly from the one carried out in 2025.
We are fully provided with spare parts and personnel to carry out scheduled repairs efficiently and on time
