Ukraine's power system is experiencing a shortage of electricity, with maximum consumption expected at 21:00. Ukrenergo is attracting emergency assistance from Europe during the day, the press service of Ukrenergo said on Monday, UNN reports.

Reportedly, electricity consumption continues to rise due to the cold snap.
As of 9:30 a.m. today, according to Ukrenergo, the level of consumption is 4.7% higher than it was at the same time on Friday, April 19. Yesterday evening's maximum was almost 6% higher than the maximum of the previous Sunday, April 14.

It is noted that the shortage of electricity in the power system today, April 22, is present throughout the day.
According to Ukrenergo, due to the damage caused by Russian missile strikes, power plants cannot generate enough electricity to cover the growing consumption.
Consumption restrictions for industrial consumers in Kryvyi Rih continue to be in effect around the clock.
In the morning, consumption restrictions are in effect in Kharkiv region. About 224,000 household consumers are without power.
Emergency assistance
The dispatch center is forced to attract emergency assistance from the power systems of European countries throughout the day .
"We ask all consumers to consume electricity sparingly. And industry - to maximize electricity imports and use alternative power sources, if available," Ukrenergo said in a statement.
Production
A power unit at one of the thermal power plants has been put under emergency repair. At the other, emergency repair work continues after the massive missile attack on April 11.
A scheduled maintenance campaign is underway at nuclear power plants.
