Details
We have put an end to the process of decommunization and de-imperialization of place names in Poltava region. Today I signed the relevant order. The new names were given to 361 place names in 50 communities. These include city neighborhoods, streets and lanes. Now they will have Ukrainian names, free of the burden of Soviet propaganda and Russian imperial policy
He noted that scientists, historians, local historians, and cultural experts were involved in the broadest possible study of the renaming issue.
All this is to ensure that the process is open and transparent, to reach an understanding and develop a common vision. The new place names are about Ukrainians, about Ukrainian things, about our heroes and countrymen. I am grateful to those who care. Glory to Ukraine
