Death of a soldier 9 days after mobilization: Special Prosecutor's Office in Ternopil to check actions of TCC officials

The Ternopil Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region will check the actions of the employees of the TCC, on whose territory a conscript fainted and later died in the hospital. A criminal investigation into the death was opened on the fact of abuse of power or official authority, UNN reports.

The Ternopil Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region registered criminal proceedings over abuse of power or authority (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The prosecutor's office said that they learned about the death of the soldier after several days in the TCC in Buchach, Ternopil region, from the media.

According to law enforcement, the deceased 49-year-old man suffered from epilepsy, and bruises and bruises were found on his body.

Investigators have previously established that on February 25, 2024, this man arrived at the TCC to verify his military records and undergo a military medical examination. However, he did not pass the medical commission due to alcohol intoxication.

Two days later, on February 27, at about 5 p.m., while on the territory of the recruitment center, the health of the conscript deteriorated - he began to have convulsions. As a result, he fell to the ground and hit his head. Doctors pronounced him dead as a result of a head injury.

It is noted that the man's body was taken to the Ternopil Regional Bureau of Forensic Medicine.

The case of the death of the conscript will be investigated by the Lviv State Bureau of Investigation.

The media also spread the information that another man - Mykola Irzaykin - died in the TCC. Prior to mobilization, he worked as a stamper at Schroeder LLC.

Colleagues called Mykola Irzaikin a "sensitive person" and noted that he had participated in charitable projects on many occasions. The man brought and distributed free lunches to those in need.
