British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a speech in the London Parliament that the country would “support Ukraine with whatever is necessary for as long as it is necessary.” In turn, the country's Defense Minister John Healey refused to say whether Britain had authorized the use of Storm Shadow missiles against targets on Russian territory. This was reported by The Guardian, according to UNN.

We have consistently said that we will do whatever is necessary to support Ukraine and put it in the best possible position for the winter. The UK's support for Ukraine has always been about self-defense

- said Starmer.

He pointed out that the assistance is proportionate, coordinated and prompt, is a response to Russia's own actions and is in accordance with international law under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Starmer also emphasized that Ukraine has a clear right of self-defense against Russia's illegal attacks.

“So, again, Russia can withdraw its troops and end this war tomorrow, but until then, we will stand up for what we believe is right, for the sake of Ukraine's security and our own security, and we will support Ukraine with whatever is necessary as long as it is necessary,” he added.

Starmer said he was proud that the parliament has demonstrated unified bipartisan support for Ukraine throughout the more than 1,000 days of conflict.

In his turn , John Healey refused to answer whether the UK had authorized the use of Storm Shadow missiles against targets on Russian territory.

He stated: “Today, defense intelligence data will reveal that the front line is less stable than at any time since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.

And in recent weeks, we have seen a very clear escalation on the part of Putin and his forces. In the run-up to winter, they have intensified their attack on Ukraine's energy system. They've stepped up attacks on civilian centers, killing children. they've brought at least 10,000 North Korean troops into the fray. Be in no doubt that the UK government is stepping up our support for Ukraine, intends to continue to double our support for Ukraine, and that's what I told (Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem) Umerov in a long phone conversation on Tuesday.”
