After her second Oscar win and two additional Grammy Awards for her contribution to Greta Gerwig's Barbie feature film What Was I Made For? Billie released her third full-length album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. Upon its release, the album reached number one on Apple Music's all-genre album chart in 138 countries.
Interestingly, this year the singer was nominated for seven more GRAMMY awards. Also, Billie Eilish became the first person to receive the "Performer of the Year" award twice Apple Music award, the first in 2019.
"Since we first heard 'Ocean Eyes' nearly a decade ago, we've been fans and supporters of Billy's work," said Rachel Newman, Apple Music's senior director of content and editorial.
The singer herself noted that Apple Music actively supports her music and it was a great honor for her to receive the Artist of the Year recognition.
