The conversation between the two leaders took place after Netanyahu convened his military cabinet and the US president cut short his weekend trip to return to Washington to meet with national security advisers.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also posted on X that he had spoken with his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin.
He said that they discussed Israel's defense operations in the face of an Iranian attack and thanked Austin for "standing boldly with Israel.
