A section of the German border with Poland was temporarily closed due to a Russian with a dummy bomb, reports UNN with reference to BILD.
According to the newspaper, today at about 08:30, the German police stopped a minivan near the town of Goerlitz on the border with Poland. The driver was a 43-year-old Russian. During a search, an object similar to a bomb was found in the glove compartment. According to BILD, it was a firecracker-like bundle with cables and flashing LEDs sticking out of it. It is also reported that a battery was connected to it. The Russian could not explain that it was he who was taken into custody. Sappers were called to the scene of the incident.
The border section of the A4 Autobahn was closed for several hours in both directions "for security reasons," a police official told BILD. In the afternoon, experts determined that it was not a real bomb, but a dummy. Now the road is open again. The police are investigating the incident.
