"BC Rivne-OSHVSM became the first finalist of the Favbet Super League season, winning an 81-78 road victory over Kyiv-Basket in Kyiv and closing the semifinal series 2-0," the statement reads.
It is noted that in the first quarter, Rivne was the first to create a 7-point lead, but Kyiv Basket managed to seize the initiative, finish the first quarter with an equal score of 21:21 and win +2 in the second ten minutes.
"At this point, the home team looked better - Kyiv Basket scored 20 points from the paint, causing the opponent the most problems, plus most of Rivne's leaders were fouled, which created additional problems for the guests. The bright spot for Rivne was Oleksiy Solovyov, who scored 18 points in the first half, including 4 of 5 from long range. It was his three-pointers that allowed Rivne to stay in the game and not let the hosts go by more than 5 points," the federation added.
It is noted that for 7 minutes of the third quarter, the game was even, but at the end of the ten minutes Rivne made an 11:3 break and went into the last break with a +7 lead. Kyiv fought to the last, the hosts finally managed to reduce the deficit to 2 points after Koshevatsky's long-range shot, and Burenko had a chance to take the game to overtime in the last attack, but he was not allowed to make the prepared shot.
"In the debut season of the Super League, Rivne reaches the final, where it will meet the winner of the Dnipro-Cherkasy Monkeys match, and Kyiv-Basket will play in the bronze series," the federation noted.
