According to Russian media, an attack occurred on an officer of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Zheleznodorozhny, Moscow Oblast, in the morning. The killer waited for the soldier near the entrance, and as soon as he came out, the shooter opened fire with a Makarov pistol with a silencer. According to preliminary information, the victim managed to get wounded, but the driver of the Ministry of Defense employee returned fire and scared the shooter.
Later, the killer's body was found in a forest belt in Balashikha. It is not yet clear whether he committed suicide or was executed for the failure. An investigation is underway.
