Thousands of protesters rallied in Tbilisi against the proposed law on foreign agents, blocking streets and clashing with police near the parliament.

A crowd of thousands again gathered in the Georgian capital to rally against the law "On Foreign Agents," UNN reports with reference to the Telegram channel Paper Kartuli.

Protesters blocked Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. They played the anthems of Georgia and the European Union. A march of cultural workers also joined the action. Activists and representatives of the opposition speak on the stage near the parliament.

The streets around the parliament are blocked and surrounded by police officers. About 150 police officers were mobilized to the streets on April 9.

Protesters continue to approach the Parliament. 

According to Paper Kartuli, the first clashes with the police have already taken place today.

"Several hundred people have gathered on Zakaria Chichinadze Street, near the side entrance to the parliament. Protesters are clashing with police officers. Opposition members Nika Melia and Nika Gvaramia are in the crowd with the protesters," the statement said.

The protesters whistle and chant "No to the Russian law" and shout "Russians" at the police officers.
