President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has established a new holiday — August 8 will be observed as the Day of the Communications and Cybersecurity Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, UNN reports.
Honoring the courage and heroism of the servicemen of the Communications and Cybersecurity Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrated in the struggle for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also with the aim of developing military traditions I hereby decree: to establish in Ukraine the Day of the Communications and Cybersecurity Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to be observed annually on August 8
This Decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication.
In addition,
Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 154/2000 of February 1, 2000, officially established the holiday in Ukraine — the Day of the Communications Forces, which was to be observed annually on August 8. The document became invalid in 2026 after the adoption of a new decree on the Day of the Communications and Cybersecurity Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
