73% of Ukrainians rate the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States as a negative factor for Ukraine. This share has increased significantly compared to December 2024, when only 21% of respondents expressed a similar opinion.
This is evidenced by survey results of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), writes UNN.
Details
In particular, if in December 2024, 31% of respondents believed that peace with Trump's participation would be rather or completely unfair, then in February-March 2025, this figure increased to 58%. In the second half of March, it decreased slightly, but still remains high – 55%.
Currently, only 18% of Ukrainians expect a fair peace, while 21% believe that it will be partially fair.
We see even more pronounced changes since December 2024. Thus, before the New Year, 54% of Ukrainians believed that it was generally good for Ukraine that D. Trump would be the President of the United States. However, already in March 2025, only 19% think so. Instead, the share of those who believe that it is bad for Ukraine that D. Trump became president increased from 21% in December 2024 to 73% in March 2025.
Addition
This material used data from two surveys of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology. The first survey was conducted on February 14-March 4, 2025 and surveyed 2029 respondents (statistical error 2.4%). The second survey was conducted on March 12-22, 2025 and surveyed 1326 respondents (statistical error 2.5%).
Both surveys were conducted using telephone interviews.
Recall
According to a KIIS survey, in December 2024, almost half of Ukrainians are confident that Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election will bring peace closer in Ukraine.
