Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 72 drones overnight, destroying 47 drones and detecting 25 imitators, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Monday, UNN reports.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, from 10:00 a.m. on December 22 to 09:00 a.m. on December 23, 2024, the enemy attacked with 72 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones from the directions of Bryansk and Orel.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
As of 09.00, 47 Shahed and other types of attack UAVs were confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Odesa regions. Due to active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 25 enemy imitator UAVs were lost locally (no negative consequences)
In Khmelnytsky and Kyiv regions, the Russian attack reportedly damaged private businesses and homes, with no casualties, and the victims are being treated.
