Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhnyi stated that Ukraine will never join NATO due to the outdated model of the Alliance. He advises focusing on new security blocs and military cooperation.

Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhnyi stated that his country will never become a member of NATO. He believes that Kyiv should focus on building other security mechanisms and military cooperation. This is reported by Rzeczpospolita, informs UNN.

Details

According to the former Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he knows NATO very well.

For about 12 years, I personally worked on adopting NATO standards, and every year I heard that we were close to joining NATO. Unfortunately, we will never join

- said Zaluzhnyi.

He noted that one of the obstacles on Ukraine's path to NATO is the Alliance's current operational model, which, in his opinion, does not correspond to the realities of modern warfare. According to Zaluzhnyi, it is difficult to join a structure that is still based on decisions from the time of World War II, while the Ukrainian armed forces have experience in conducting modern armed conflicts.

NATO will most likely remain in its current form and spend the next 12 years, like Ukraine, moving toward the standards needed to reach at least half the level of the Russian Federation

- Zaluzhnyi predicts.

He added that Ukraine will likely join new blocs and alliances - in particular, a European military security bloc.

Reminder

In May, Ukraine's Ambassador to Britain Valeriy Zaluzhnyi at a conference in Tallinn called for new security solutions. He emphasized that the old world order no longer works.
