Andrea Maldera has called up debutants Romanchuk and Synchuk for the games against Poland and Denmark. Andriy Yarmolenko and Andriy Lunin have returned to the team.

The new head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Andrea Maldera, has announced the squad for the friendly matches against Poland and Denmark. Two newcomers will join the national team: defender Oleksandr Romanchuk and midfielder Hennadii Synchuk. Additionally, Andriy Yarmolenko returns to the squad, having last played for the national team back in March 2025, UNN reports with reference to the UAF.

Called up for the friendly matches against Poland and Denmark:

Goalkeepers: Anatoliy Trubin (Benfica), Andriy Lunin (Real Madrid), Dmytro Riznyk (Shakhtar), and Ruslan Neshcheret (Dynamo).

Defenders: Illia Zabarnyi (PSG), Mykola Matviyenko, Valeriy Bondar (Shakhtar), Taras Mykhavko (Dynamo), Eduard Sarapiy (Polissya), Vitaliy Mykolenko (Everton), Oleksandr Romanchuk (Universitatea).

Midfielders: Oleh Ocheretko, Artem Bondarenko, Yehor Nazaryna (Shakhtar), Yehor Yarmoliuk (Brentford), Heorhiy Sudakov (Benfica), Mykola Shaparenko (Dynamo), Ruslan Malinovskyi (Genoa).

Forwards: Roman Yaremchuk (Lyon), Hennadii Synchuk (Montreal), Oleksandr Nazarenko, Oleksiy Hutsulyak (Polissya), Artem Dovbyk (Roma), Matviy Ponomarenko, and Andriy Yarmolenko (Dynamo).

The reserve list includes: Nazar Voloshyn, Volodymyr Brazhko (Dynamo), Ihor Krasnopir (Polissya), Maksym Khlan (Górnik Zabrze).

During the press conference, the new head coach of the national team, Andrea Maldera, stated: "When we were forming the lists, we took various factors into account. We believe that the situation at the (right-back - ed.) position is not critical," Maldera said.

Italian coach Andrea Maldera took charge of the Ukraine national football team following the dismissal of Serhiy Rebrov. Previously, Maldera worked with the national team as an assistant to Andriy Shevchenko, who currently heads the UAF.
