After the scandal with sexual harassment scandal, the Indian Ministry of Sports suspended the Wrestling Wrestling Federation and dismissed the newly elected leaders. This was reported by UNN with reference to Reuters.

The Ministry of Sports took action after the Federation elected a new president, Sanjay Singh, who was supported by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's predecessor. It was Brij Singh who was accused of of sexual harassment and intimidation of female athletes. He is currently under investigation. He is under investigation. Singh denies any wrongdoing.
The newly elected body appears to be fully controlled by former officials. The activities of the Federation is conducted from premises controlled by former officials
In the letter the ministry asked the Indian Olympic Association to set up a a special committee to manage the Federation.
For failure to hold elections on time to hold elections on time, the Wrestling Federation of India has already been suspended by its governing body by the governing body, the United World Wrestling Federation.
Also, in protest against the elections, leading wrestler Sakshi Malik also left the national team.
